”..—” In which Gracie feels neglected, but doesn’t say anything because she doesn’t like complaining.
”Something wrong, darling?”
Gracie began to softly hum the music that was playing through out the pharmacy speakers. It was sorta like elevator music, but she soon stopped when her mother began to speak, “It fits you perfectly. You are perfect after all.” She smiled warmly and gave her mother a loving kiss on the cheek. When she questioned her hair color Gracie gave a small nod, eyes never leaving her face. Gracie knew Elijah would flip out but it was only an experiment of fashion, she’d go back to normal Gracie in no time. When her mother agreed her smile brightened, “See? This is exactly why you’re the best mother in the entire universe, Mama.”
"Thank you, dear," she said and smiled at the kiss on her cheek, pleased with this interaction with her daughter. She knew that Elijah would not enjoy the change in hair color and would find it too extreme. "You are an adult, darling, you can truly do as you please. I only wish you to be happy in whatever it is you choose to do."
Gracie strides stayed in sync with her Mothers, not wanting to leave her behind by any means necessary. “I’ve never met a Tatia before either… your name is very rare, Mama.” Sh said with a gentle smile before chewing on her lower lip, “It may be a bit extreme.. like.. blue extreme.” Soon the receptionist came to the counter and Gracie told her what she needed and gave showed her the doctors note. The woman nodded and took the oxygen tank in the back to refill it and also doing the favor of having more delivered monthly to the house. She gave a friendly smile to the woman, “What do you think about blue, mama?”
Tatia gave her daughter a smile and reached over to touch her face. She was a beautiful girl and she could see all the traits of Elijah in her and those of herself as well. “I do not know where my parents came up with the name, but I suppose it fits me.” She looked at her when she said that. “Blue?” she had never heard of something like that before. “You want to dye your hair blue?” Elijah would not enjoy that, but Gracie was an adult and she did not have control over what she did with her physical appearance. “If it is truly what you want, I cannot complain.”
[Katherine smirked considering her offer for a moment, bringing the glass to her lips and taking a sip. This was different, and she almost wondered how far she could push Tatia. If she would get offended or embarrassed or if her good girl act was just that an ‘act’.] “Hmm.. why don’t we turn the tables around. You entertain me. You put on a show for me. Then maybe I’ll return the favor after.” [She shrugged her shoulders casually.] “Depends on how well you can hold my interest.”
Tatia considered her for a long while. She knew that Katherine would want to push her buttons and she would allow that. She felt as though it was time for her to let her hair down and live in the modern age a little bit; she had not really done much of that lately and it had been quite some time since she had relations with another woman. “You tell me what kind of show you want me to put on and I will do my very level best to try and accommodate your wicked desires.”
Gracie also exit the vehicle and quickly made her way to the drivers side to give her mother a hand in getting out of the car, all the while listening and she chuckled softly, “Mom, I fail to see what’s so unique about Gracie.” She mused as she began to walk along side with her into the pharmacy. She walked up to the front desk and rung the bell for service and waited patiently for someone to arrive, “Mom? What do you think about me dying my hair?”
"I think it is very unique," she commented and looked at her, walking inside the store. She was a little bit slower as she was as her belly was awfully big. "I have never met another Gracie," she wagged a finger and started behind her, exhaling slowly as she waited for someone to come and help them. "Well, what color do you want to dye it? Something not outrageous, I hope."
A simple touch from her made him relax and he leaned against her hand, watching her carefully and in total awe. She had allowed him back into her life after all. Her grin seemed so carefree and almost playful in a way. He wanted to ask her more about the past thousand years but also thought that now wasn’t a good time for it. Maybe sometime on their travels they could properly catch about their time apart.
"Protective seems a good word for it, though perhaps its understatement" He laughed quietly, though it seemed that Elijah was no where near as protective as Niklaus was who in the beginning had only wanted Rebekah’s happiness. "Yes, though I believe that you will like him. Aside from the friends he keeps he seems to be a nice kid" Though Elijah shrugged, not knowing if he would ever approve of Matt. But Tatia’s next words caused the smile on his face to widen after what he heard about Rebekah’s revenge methods on the eldest Salvatore. "Yes, Rebekah is very capable of seeking her own revenge"
Elijah listened as the song came to an end but he didn’t want to leave her company. “I think there is someone else who might deserve it more” He said quietly, giving her a genuine smile.
Tatia couldn’t help but laugh at him when he said that; swaying with him and watching him for a moment. The way the light hit his eyes just made her melt all over again. He had always been so debonair and handsome in their youth, but there was something about him now with the aura of time that made him even more attractive. The wisdom of the ages seemed to settle in his eyes and nowhere else thus making him that much more fascinating to him. “I suppose I will. She is free with her heart, but in that, she has lived eons,” she commented and looked him over.
"You have your big brother face on," she teased him and reached up to pat his cheek just before that smile broke out on his face. "Yes, see? She is very capable of taking care of herself, but she will always need you, just not in matters of the heart."
Besides, he had his own life to live to a degree. Even as the song ended, she didn’t stop moving. “No one more than you. You have sacrificed your own happiness your whole life, Elijah. It’s time for you to take a little of it for yourself.”
